Why can't you sleep, Casden?

As I've noted in previous posts, Casden has taken to getting out of his bed in the time after his bedtime, but before our bedtime. He goes to our bed, snuggles up under the covers, and goes to sleep. Well, Tim was getting sick of this so he instituted drastic measures--he started locking our bedroom door after we put Casden to bed.

Last night, Tim was downstairs in the basement on the treadmill, and I was camped out on the couch in the family room, surfing the web. BOTH Padget and Casden peek around the corner at me. I get up off the couch, Padget takes off for her bedroom, and Casden waits for me to walk with him up the stairs. We get to the top of the stairs, and I ask Casden, "Why are you awake?" Caz says, "Because I can't sleep." I ask him, "Why can't you sleep, Casden?" And he replies, "Because your door is locked." LOL! And you know it's the truth--he probably snuggles up in our bed and is out like a light. But not last night, he was thwarted. That's Casden for ya!

Baby Belly Laughs

Padget has a real knack for making Aidric laugh. I finally got him on video. Sorry for the poor quality--on the little digital camera--and it's not easy to hold Aidric one-armed and film with the other!

Padget was dressed in her hat and scarf (actually MY hat and scarf) as she was pretending to be scaling Mt. Everest. Of course!

Aidric is currently under-represented in my blog, as he is only 6 months old and non-verbal! However, he did do something funny at his 6 month check-up. We walked into the doctor's office and the receptionist slid open the window for us to check in. As soon as he slid open the window, Aidric took one look at him, burped and then proceeded to blow raspberries. The receptionist laughed and said, "Yep, buddy, I know how you feel!" It was funny.

Aidric has learned to use rolling as a means of getting around...kindof. He can only roll left. So, he rolls left over and over and over until he gets stuck on something, screams until you move him back...and then he rolls left over and over and over until he gets stuck on something...etc., etc.!

One more thing that Aidric does that makes me laugh...he manages to blow raspberries into his bottles so he is actually blowing bubbles. He loves to do it. Neither Padget nor Casden did this--of course, they do it now in their cups with straws. So, this is new to me. But he ends up re-inflating the Playtex drop-in with all the air he's blowing into it. Kindof defeating the point of the drop-in, but oh well, he enjoys it!
